A HIGHLIGHT OF IMPACTFUL MOMENTS
Throughout Kyomi's undergraduate career, she had opportunities that have since turned into invaluable lessons, cherished memories, and unparalleled growth that have shaped her into a true global citizen. From interning at Federal agencies to traveling Southeast Asia, Kyomi has built relationships with individuals from all walks of life. These experiences have helped her pursue her passion for education and international development.

COMMUNICATIONS INTERN & NIGER FOREIGN OFFICE INTERN
As a USAID intern, Kyomi had the opportunity to work with some amazing federal government employees. Within her communications role, she developed a more efficient communications strategy by creating over a dozen outlines, content logs, talking points, strategic social media posts, and master lists of reusable material. While interning with the Niger foreign office, she worked on developing education programs, mission programming, and scenario planning for numerous technical and management offices.
Honors Vietbodia Study Abroad
ALUMNA
In the summer of 2023, Kyomi spent 2 rewarding months in Southeast Asia learning about the rich history in Vietnam, beautiful sites in Thailand, and remarkable religious past of Cambodia. Throughout her travels she was able to connect with university students in Hanoi, Vietnam for a cultural exchange which taught her the beauty of connecting with others. This lesson was later reinforced in Cambodia where she taught English to 13 students at the Provincial Teachers Training College in Siem Reap. Kyomi was able to watch these students flourish into future educators and hopes that she can serve as their catalyst to poistively impacting the lives of others.

CHIEF OF STAFF TO THE STUDENT BODY PRESIDENT
As Chief of Staff to the Student Body President, Kyomi was able to give back to her university community and create positive change on campus. She advised the Student Body President on key issues including an initiative to provide free menstrual products in campus restrooms. Aside from her work on campus, Kyomi had the honor of advocating for university priorities at the Florida State Capitol in Tallhassee and support the interests of Hispanic Serving Research Universities on Capitol Hill in Washington DC. In her experience she served as an important representative of her University on the local, state, and national stage.

ALUMNA
In November 2021, Kyomi spent three action-packed days in Washington DC focused on the future of the tech industry. She had the opportunity to discuss this topic with several key players including but not limited to the Chief Information Officer of the U.S. Department of State, the Director of Emerging Technologies at the Cato Institute, two Congressional offices, and the policy teams of tech giants Google and Amazon. With her group, she was able to develop a policy proposal that was submitted to the White House Office of Science and Tcehnology Policy that focused on increasing opportunities for historically underrepresented students in the tech industry.
Model United Nations & FIMUN 34
UNDERSECRETARY GENERAL FOR GENERAL ASSEMBLIES
Kyomi has been a Model United Nations delegate for several years. She has traveled to various conferences across North America winning multiple awards and representing her University. Some highlights include representing the country of Estonia at Harvard University and negotiating the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 where she won Outstanding delegate. She has also represented the Moroccan Minister of Water and the Environment at the University of Virginia to debate the Polisario Front in North Africa where she won Best Delegate. Her time in the Model United Nations Program also gave her the opportunity to ensure the smooth running of all general assemblies for the FIU-run high school model united nations conference that was held in Spring 2022, FIMUN 34.
